Vail Valley real estate sales volume on the rise as ski season begins

With the Thanksgiving holiday around the corner and winter on the way, the Vail Valley real estate market is heating up. October brought an increase in sales as well as an uptick in price, despite being in the midst of the shoulder season.
In October, 96 homes sold, up from 92 homes that closed in September. Local home prices rose slightly with a median sale price in October of $1,759,500, an increase from $1,605,000 the previous month.
LIV Sotheby’s International Realty’s monthly market report data shows that October’s total sales volume in the Vail Valley was $293,016,345, a 22.18% increase from the previous month. The sale-to-list price ratio was at 97% as sellers continued to receive very close to the full asking price for their homes. As of Nov. 14, there were 379 homes for sale and 170 homes under contract. Beaver Creek will host men’s and women’s FIS Alpine Ski World Cup races on consecutive weekends in December.
