24th Annual Teva Vail HillClimb Sunday
Runners will start in Vail Village and follow dirt roads up Vail Mountain to Eagle’s Nest for more than 2,200 feet of elevation gain in 7.5 miles. Join nearly 500 runners who will converge on Vail for this grand finale to their July 4th weekend.Some of the best racers in the nation will be in attendance this year, vying for a spot on the U.S. Trail Running Team. Vail’s elite male runners are expected to take their chances against the likes of Simon Gutierrez, Scott Elliot, Paul Low & Richard Bolt. On the women’s side, Eagle resident Anita Ortiz will try to hold her own against J’ne Day-Lucore, Julie Bryan, Kari Distefano & Lisa Goldsmith.The action begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Covered Bridge, just south of the Village Parking Structure. Pre-registration fee is $20, increasing to $30 for day-of-race registration. Please note that there is no Saturday registration.Food, drinks, T-shirts and prizes will be awarded at Eagle’s Nest following the event.
