VAIL – In fewer than three weeks, more than 150 adventure racers will descend upon the Vail Valley on Sept.. 10th for the Fifth annual AdventureXstream Adventure Race. Racers will compete in a 60 mile course that includes mountain biking, kayaking, trail running and navigation. Along with its natural beauty, this return venue offers one of the world’s highest altitude courses. Racers head up to elevations of 10,500 feet during the event. The AdventureXstream Adventure Race Series is offering a total of $30,000 in cash for the series. The next stop in the series is in Vail, Colorado and then onto the Series Finale Xstream Expedition Race Oct. 6-10 in Moab, Utah. For those new to adventure racing, Gravity Play Sports also offers Adventure Racing Retreats and Camps. Entry fee for each AdventureXstream Adventure 12-Hour Race is $175 per person and includes AIRE Tomcat tandem kayaks for each two- and four-person team. All participants also receive a free pair of SmartWool Adrenaline socks and Hammer Nutrition products.Teva Games on OLNVAIL -Vail will be in the national spotlight as the Teva Mountain Games airs on television in over 62.5 million homes on the Outdoor Life Network.
