Almost a dozen snowboarders heading to Tahoe
VAIL – It was good news, Part II, for riders of Ski & Snowboard Club Vail.One day after two riders were named to the World Junior Championship team, and one as an alternate, 11 were chosen for this year’s USA Snowboarding Association nationals in Northstar-at-Tahoe, Nev.The competition, which will take place March 31 through April 7, will feature slopestyle, boardercross, halfpipe, slalom and giant slalom events.”Normally we have about this amount, but most of the kids are under 11, which is rad,” said SSCV snowboarding director Ben Boyd.Several athletes will be competing in all of the events, including Kim Krahulec, who was named to the world junior boardercross team. Sean Roley, Blake Mollerand Ryan Wachendorfer will also be trying their hands at all events.Ellen Feldman, who was named a alternate for the Junior Worlds halfpipe team, will be heading to the USASA nationals for the pipe, while teammates Kendall Wilson will be doing the same, along with all the other events. Rose Ravesky, who has seen solid results this year, will be going, too.Other riders going include: Talia Carradonna, Cody Warble, Charlotte Adkins and Ky Carradonna.
