American team wins Topolino Snowboard Trophy

The USASA All American Team brought home the first place Trofeo Topolino Snowboard Trophy for the second year in a row. The 24 member team competed against many of the best riders in the world at eighth Trofeo Topolino, one of the largest and most prestigious Junior World Events. The half pipe competition was a crowd pleaser attracting a huge audience to watch the acrobatic athletes vie for first place. The USASA All American Team received high scores in both Half-pipe and Snowboarder Cross events. After the demanding performances against the world’s top snowboarders, the Norwegian team placed second and the Swedish team placed third. “The conditions were sunny and the competition was hot,” said Matt Gustafson, USASA team coach. “The USASA All American Team has some of the best athletic ability in the world. The team prepared by competing in USASA events throughout the season. They are dedicated, enthusiastic and talented riders. We are proud to celebrate the win with them.”The USA team challenged riders from 24 countries across the globe in Val Di Sole, Italy, at Fologarida and Marilleva Resorts. The event concluded with an award celebration and the arrival of Mickey Mouse, who congratulated all the competitors. Other participating countries include; Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Italy, Norway, New Zealand, Poland, Republic of Saint Marino, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Serbia Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden. The USASA All -American Team will be competing at the 2005 USASA National Championship April 2-9 at Copper Mountain Resort in Colorado. Many of the USASA All American Team members hold USASA National Championship titles and are expected to finish in the top of the field of riders.
