The boys cross country team placed second overall, with 5A Dakota Ridge coming in first.Johnny Stevens finished 4th overall with a time of 19 minutes, 2 seconds. The rest of the boys finished as such: Jake Ball, 7th, 19:40; Shea Phelan, 10th, 20:12; Ben Rogers, 12th, 20:17; Jamie Fahrmeyer, 13th, 20:26.The girls took third place, but were first among 4A teams. Jennifer Bowles finished 5th overall with a time of 22:30. Rounding out the scores were Leslie Peterson, 9th, 23:19, Molly McGee, 10th 23:22 and Whitney Allard, 20th, 24:16.Wins abound for VolleyballVail Mountain School beat Crested Butte in four games. VMS won the first game, 25-21, dropped the second 25-15, and then won the last two 25-20, 25-18.Earlier in the day, Vail Christian beat Crested Butte in five games. After losing the first game 25-22, the Saints won the next two games, 25-23, 25-19. In the forth game, the Saints fell 25-19, and then pulled out the last game 15-12.Battle Mountain beat Grand Junction in a five-game thriller. Grand Junction took the first game 25-22, and then Battle Mountain won the next game 25-16. After losing the next game 25-21, the Huskies won the last two games, 27-25, 15-12.Eagle Valley loses to PalisadeThe Devils fell 4-1 to Palisade Saturday afternoon.
