EDWARDS — After losing three in a row, the Huskies are back in the win column.
Leading 6-3 at halftime, Battle Mountain (5-4) outscored the Tigers (1-9) 10-0 in the second half en route to a 16-3 Mountain League win.
“The only difference between the first half and the second half was their shots were going on the cage in the second half,” said Huskies coach Jerry Nichols. “We had all of the looks, the shots were there and the plays were working, we just couldn’t put it on the cage.”
Jeremy Sforzo and Charlie Morrow led the way for Battle Mountain in the first half, with Sforzo being a dominant force on both sides of the ball.
Halfway through the first quarter, Sforzo plowed over a defender opening up a clear space to shoot, bouncing it past Summit’s goalie for a 4-1 lead.

Battle Mountain also got help from its freshmen, which has been happening all year. Freshmen Tucker Morrow and Nick Walter both scored two goals apiece, while senior Ky Caradonna and junior Wyatt Perkins added two each.
“It’s been a tough couple of weeks, so it’s nice to win one,” said Charlie Morrow, who is playing on the same team as his younger brother this season.
“Hopefully we can win some more,” Tucker Morrow added.
The Huskies have three non-conference games next on the schedule, starting with Valor Christian on Friday in Edwards. It’s not necessarily a must win, but it’s a chance for the Huskies to prove they can compete against tough competition.
