Battle Mountain pulls even after two

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado ” Battle Mountain’s Barrett Chow knotted the score at one during the second period of the state-title game Saturday between the Huskies and Regis at the World Arena in Colorado Springs.

Ryan Maddux fed him a beautiful pass from just in front of Battle Mountain’s blueline, and Chow broke into the raiders’ zone all alone. The senior, who played in this game three years ago as a freshman, buried the shot.

In a much more wide-open period, both teams had excellent chances. Huskies defenseman Eric Davis cleared the puck out of Battle Mountain’s crease. Battle Mountain forward Kodi Wyatt and blueliner Connor Tedstrom also creared a beautiful Raiders’ scoring opportunity.

Huskies goalie Kalen Burnett stood tall with a saves on Regis’ Zeke Yalas and Paul Apke.

Battle Mountain had its share of chances. Both Jonny Stevens and Maddux hit the post with shots.

Regis held the advantage in shots, 20-12, after two periods.
