Lopez begins his new position with Beaver Creek on Friday.

“I am excited and honored to be the new head golf professional at the Beaver Creek Golf Club,” said Lopez. “I’m looking forward to living and working in the Vail Valley, and I’m eager to meet the needs of our membership and guests in my new position.”

Prior to beginning his new position with Beaver Creek, Lopez was the assistant golf professional at Castle Pines Golf Club, located in Castle Rock, a club currently ranked as one of the top private golf courses in the country. Prior to joining Castle Pines Golf Club, Lopez held the position of first assistant golf professional with Meridian Golf Club in Englewood, as well as the head golf coaching position with Colorado Academy High School in Denver.

“David brings more than 18 years of experience in the golf industry to Beaver Creek,” said Garnsey. “We are pleased he’s chosen to join our team and know that with his enthusiasm he will do great things for the golf course and the resort.”

Lopez also has accumulated an impressive list of achievements on the course. He participated in the Colorado Open from 1993-2001, making the cut six out of nine years. Lopez is also credited with third-place status at both the Colorado PGA Section Championship and the Colorado PGA Assistance Championship.
