Beaver Creek Golf Course open to public next week

Special to the Daily/Dann Coffey From May 5 - June 14 Eagle and Summit County residents can play 18 holes at the Beaver Creek Golf Club for $60 (cart included).

BEAVER CREEK – Golf enthusiasts can tee up at Beaver Creek Golf Course starting May 5. The 18-hole championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. will be open to the public from May 5 – June 14, and Sept. 16 – Oct. 1, 2006.

The course will be open to Club Members and Beaver Creek Resort, Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead resort guests from June 15 – Sept. 15. From May 5 – June 14, price is $80 for 18 holes, $60 for nine holes.Juniors under 18 years of age can play 18 holes for $60. A special twilight rate is available after 3 p.m. for $50. Golfers who show proof of Eagle or Summit County residence can play 18 holes for $60 or nine holes for $45. All fees are per-person and include carts and range balls. Tax is not included.

The 6,784-yard par-70 course opened in 1984 and begins and ends at the edge of Beaver Creek Village. A short layout challenges golfers with elevated tees and narrow fairways. The Club played host to The Jerry Ford Golf Invitational on several occasions.

The course was named a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary in 2003 by the Audubon Society, meeting the Society’s requirements to be designated as a wildlife sanctuary. For more information and to book tee times or lessons, call the Beaver Creek Golf Club at (970) 845-5775.
