Beaver Creek sets its 2011 snowshoe season schedule

BEAVER CREEK- Highline Sports and Entertainment announced Tuesday the schedule for the 2011 Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series. Dates for the 2011 series include: Jan. 9, Feb. 6 and March 6, the annual Jeremy Wright North American Snowshoe Championships.

“The Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series attracts a wide variety of ability levels, from world-class snowshoers to non-competitive families and singles,” said James Deighan of Highline Sports and Entertainment, the series’ producer. “The Adventure Series is fun for winter sports enthusiasts of any ability and any age.”

The Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series draws first-time snowshoers, world-class snowshoe athletes, kids of all ages and everyone in between. Each event within the series will include the East West Resorts 5K Quest, a competitive 10K and a Kids’ 1K and will feature sponsor expos and post-event parties.



“We are super excited to once again host the Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series,” said Tim Baker, executive director of the Beaver Creek Resort Company. “Over the years, this event has proven to be a community favorite and is sure to again draw fantastic turnouts. I can think no better way to spend an afternoon than trekking along the trails with friends, family and competitors.”

A series pass is available for $85 until Jan. 9. and includes a participant gift. Registration for the series pass is available online through Jan. 8 or on the day of the first event in Beaver Creek. Per-race pre-registration is available for $30 and closes at 5 p.m. the night prior to each event. Event-day registration is also available for $35 and will take place in Beaver Creek starting at 9 a.m. prior to each race.

The Kids’ 1K for children 12 years-of-age and younger is free for any child accompanied by a participating parent. Online registration, as well as detailed event information is available at http://www.bcsnowshoe.com.
