Bravo! hosts snowshoe race

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL – The Bravo Vail Valley Music Festival has its annual snowshoe race Wednesday night under a full moon at the Cordillera Valley Club. The race is the second in the Cordillera Simple Charity Snowshoe series.

All proceeds from the event benefit Bravo’s Music Matters education programs including after-school piano lessons, the Instrument Bank, free public concerts, Instrument Petting Zoos, and music education seminars. Half of the proceeds go directly towards the purchase of keyboards for the Instrument Bank. The keyboards are loaned to the piano students.

“It’s so important that the students are able to practice at home,” said Liz Campbell, Bravo’s education director. “It will improve their playing tremendously.”

The snowshoe race begins at 6 p.m. and is followed by a chili dinner at the Timber Hearth Grille. Race fee is $30 or $35 day of race. Participants may register online at or call 970-926-5100. Day of race registration is at 5 p.m. at the Timber Hearth Grille.

The 5K race follows a packed trail through Cordillera, weaving in and out of aspens and open fields. While the race is under a full moon, participants are encouraged to bring headlamps. All levels are welcome to attend.
