Colorado hoops coach Tad Boyle signs first recruit
BOULDER, Colo. – Newly hired Colorado basketball coach Tad Boyle has signed his first recruit to a letter of intent, landing forward Andre Roberson of San Antonio.
The 6-foot-7, 190-pound Roberson narrowed his choices to Colorado and Penn State before signing with the Buffs Monday. He joins a team in need of big men to accompany a strong backcourt that includes Big 12 freshman of the year Alec Burks.
Boyle placed an emphasis on bringing in size when he took over in April for Jeff Bzdelik, who left for Wake Forest after three seasons with Colorado.
Boyle says that Roberson has the athleticism to be a “game changer” on both ends of the floor. Roberson averaged 15 points and 12 rebounds his senior year of high school.
