The winners of the event, created to benefit Ski and Snowboard Club Vail and the Colorado Ski Museum, represented the Colorado Ski Museum.”We had an advantage on the skiing side,” said Colorado Ski Museum team member Jack Miller.Patrick Jaerbyn is a member of the Swedish National Team; Brett Fischer and Wade Bishop are professionals as well; and Miller is a former member of the Olympic team. The Colorado Ski Museum team won the ski racing at Black Forest Race Arena.”We had to step it up in the golfing,” said Miller. “And we did.”The team’s five-man scramble round of 61 at Cotton Ranch Golf Club included a 361-yard missile from Jaerbyn on the second hole, which snuck up on the green.”This year was much better than last year,” said Fleischer. “The thing that hurt us was the fact that we held the event on Easter. But we want this event to be family-oriented.”To try and promote a familial base for the event, coordinators set up an Easter-egg hunt for the children and a comfortable atmosphere for anyone who did not wish to participate in the skiing or golf.”This year’s event was better than last year’s,” said Miller. “It was hard to top, but Chad did it.”Andrew Harley is a sports reporter for the Vail Daily.
