Royle and Davis both hit a pair of two-run homers to lift Eagle Valley to 8-3 on the season. Davis went 3-for-4 on the day and also scored four runs. Senior Micah Bernhardt picked up the win by going the first five innings. Royle pitched the last two, striking out two.

“We executed for the most part fairly well,” head coach Robert Ellsworth said. “There’s some things we need to think about. But these guys are unselfish. They just want to win.”

Royle and Bernhardt went 2-for-3 on the day and each scored twice.

The Devils were scheduled to travel to Aspen for a doubleheader Saturday, but the game has switched locations. Now the teams will battle it out at the Eagle County Fairgrounds, with an 11 a.m. start.

“All in all, it was a great team effort today,” Ellsworth said. “Now we get back to the conference play with Aspen.”

The Devils are 2-1 in the Western Slope Conference.
