Devils girls golf finishes third
Eagle Valley girls golf finished third out of 13 teams Thursday at the River Valley Ranch in Glenwood Springs. Charly Hoehn led the way for the Devils, who finished just back of Durango and Montrose.
“Charly looked strong,” coach Susan Scott said. “By watching her as a freshman, she’ll be a state contender by the time she’s a senior.”
Mandy Preston shot a 94, aided by a strong putting performance. Junior Erin Sterkel shot a 97 to close out the varsity scores.
“Erin’s a very consistent player,” Scott said. “She’s just a real leader with the team.”
Eagle Valley will head to the Columbine Country Club Monday for the Heritage Invitational. The Devils are one of only two 3A schools to be invited.
