Devils volleyball picks up another win
Seniors Chelsea Abbott and sophomore Kenzie Shreeve led the Devils with six kills apiece, while senior captain Erin Sterkel recorded 23 assists in the 15-11, 15-3 win. Shreeve also added eight digs on the game.
“They shook off the iffiness in the first game,” coach Karl Talcott said. “We were in their gym and they had a good crowd. By the time we got into the second game, we rolled out to an 8-0 lead.”
A major credit for the lead goes to senior Kim Smith, who served up three aces and eight points in a row.
The Devils hit the road Friday to Basalt, a 3A Western Slope opponent. Eagle Valley, 3-0 in the league, beat Hotchkiss last Friday in two games.
