Discounts for Vail Golf Club passes end May 15
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL ” Season pass sales are under way at the Vail Golf Club with early-season discounts available through May 15.
The driving range is open and pass sales are available for purchase from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily at golf club. The golf club is scheduled to open May 15, weather permitting. After May 15, discounted rates will continue to be offered throughout the season to offset minimal impacts golfers may experience during the club’s irrigation renovation this summer.
During the irrigation work, golfers can expect a minimum of 17-18 holes available for play at all times (once all 18 holes are open). There are two punch-card options and four season pass options available for 2009.
Those who purchase 10- and 20-round passes by May 15 will receive five free small range ball bags and a one-time, 30 percent discount ($90 maximum) off all soft goods purchased in the Vail Golf Club pro shop. The 10- and 20-round passes are a reduced rate of $100 over 2008 and are transferable, but restricted during peak-season play.
Those who purchase gold and silver passes by May 15 will receive up to a $200 reduced rate over 2008, plus 10 free small range ball bags; a 12-round punch pass to allow up to three guests per day to play with the pass holder at the then-current VRD residential daily rate; discounts at Happy Valley Grill; a one-time 30 percent discount ($90 maximum) off of any soft goods purchased in the Vail Golf Club pro shop; and an opportunity to participate in one free group lesson. Season pass holders also can play Cotton Ranch Golf Course for $50 per round throughout the season.
Daily rates also have been reduced by up to $5 per round for the 2009 season. All golfers including VRD, Eagle County and Summit County residents, as well as guests, will receive shoulder season rates opening day through June 18 and Sept. 11 to closing day.
Work to renovate the Vail Golf Club’s 40-year-old irrigation system is under way and is scheduled to end the last week in August. Work takes place from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and a half day on Saturdays. No work occurs Sundays. Once completed, the new irrigation system will allow the golf course to apply water to specified areas and prepare for a drought, become a more responsible user of water on the course, as well as improve the health of the greens and areas of play.

There Marco Odermatt was, in the Birds of Prey finish corral following his gutsy super-G run, wondering just how fast he was. As the second skier on course, and the first to finish, the confusion was understandable.
