Dogma Athletica hosts free fitness events in Vail Valley
VAIL VALLEY, Colorado Dogma Athleticas will host free yoga, cycling and fitness classes in Colorado’s Vail Valley and offer free day passes to its training facilities as part of the Edwards gyms annual open house week.The events, which will run from this Thursday through Saturday, will showcase some of the training services available through the gyms panel of coaches, trainers and physical therapists, said owner Rod Connolly.In addition to the classes, Dogma Athleticas In Your Face Skin Care services will be giving complementary 30-minute mini-facials and skin analysis by owner Michelle Connolly.In Your Face Skin Care does peels, micordermabrasion, light and oxygen therapy and corrective facials. Circuit Training with Curt Nash noon and 7 p.m. Nashs workout includes 10 to 12 strength workouts at different stations with five minute cardio intervals interspersed Race training with local mountain biking champion Josh Nota 6 p.m. This is a seminar on how to get the most out of your Wednesday night mountain bike races. Learn how to structure your training between races, how to warm up properly, and how to use fueling and recovery to your advantage Dogma yoga with yoga director and physical therapist Keri Bergeron 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Lunch-time yoga with Tim Sullivan noon to 1:15 p.m. Flow Yoga with Keri Bergeron 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Fueling and recovery discussion and Q&A with USA Cycling coach Rod Connolly 9 a.m. Learn how to properly fuel for endurance sports. Get educated about the importance of recovery and how supplements can speed up recovery time. Plyometric training for cyclists and runners with XTERRA and Teva Mountain Games champion Josiah Middaugh 10:30 a.m. Learn what the latest research says, get some plyometric exercises to enhance your cycling and running, and learn how to design a program to fit your needs. Yoga for cyclists with Rod Connolly and Keri Bergeron 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. This is a cross-training class for cyclists that will help with recovery time, increase mobility in cycling muscles, and help to increase breathing and oxygen-carrying capacity. Weight training for mountain bikers with Josh Nota 6 p.m. This is a hands-on class that will address the needs of mountain bikers. It will cover why core strength and upper-body strength is important, and how to incorporate strength moves into your workout routine. Ansura-inspired yoga with Suzanne Nelson 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Ansura yoga with Monica Gulley 10:30 a.m. to noonGulley will lead you through exercises focused on proper physical alignment that will leave you feeling invigorated and restored. This class is for all levels. Injury evaluations with licensed physical therapist Keri Bergeron 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bergeron will evaluate any of your aches and pains and give you the best course of treatment tailored to your needs. Yoga and Wine with Keri Bergeron 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.This is a Flow Yoga class, set to a soundtrack, that unwinds you from the week. The class is topped off with a complimentary glass of wine from Drink!. This class is for all levels. All-levels yoga with Keri Bergeron 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
