GYPSUM — Eagle Valley soccer bounced back into the win column by doubling up Summit County, 4-2, on Tuesday night in Gypsum.
Zoe Booth scored twice, while Tatum Coe and Adie Schumacher also found the back of the net.
Senior Maddy Callis, who is playing for the injured Valeria Duarte-Munoz, got the win in net for the Devils (4-9).
“Today was the fullest game this season just in terms of everybody clicking toward the goal of what we want to retrieve,” Eagle Valley coach Maggie Sherman said. “That was huge to see.”
Eagle Valley hopes to keep it going on Saturday against Palisade.
Huskies girls’ lax wins
FARMER”S KORNER — Battle Mountain girls lacrosse moved to 7-4 with a win at Summit County by a count of 8-4.
“We played a lot up and down the field, so we struggled to maintain possession,” Huskies coach Jason Fitzgerald said. “When we settled in, we were in control.”
The usual suspects were in it on offense, while Tatum Huffman went back to defense and stabilized that unit. Speaking of defense, goalie Grace Morgan had nine saves.
Battle Mountain hosts Durango on Saturday, which is considerably better than having to travel to Durango.
