Although the loss of 5 starting seniors off of last season’s squad means a drop in experience, we’re pleased with the rebuilding effort thus far, and aim for a contending spot in the 3A Western Slope.What’s the best part about coaching this year’s team? There are a lot of humorous personalities in this program, which means that we’re always anticipating the necxt chuckle!How do you motivate high school athletes? In our program we try to set forth expectations as they relate to attitude, effort, systems and execution, and hopefully some key athletes will latch onto those ideas and they’ll become self-perpetuating.What do you eat before a match? Not much. I don’t want to go into “food coma” as the match starts!Who do you consider your rival? Beyond the obvious western slope traditional geographic rivalries (Aspen, Battle Mountain) I’d say we’re now looking at Middle Park as a team to measure ourselves by.What do you hear yourself constantly repeating to your team? “Stay low and move”.Water or Sports Drink? One thing I like a lot is Ramen Noodles & a smoothie!Who do you consider your rival? Olathe, they really hate us! Last year they wrote mean stuff all over our bus.Who’s the best leader on your team?
