I expect the girls to improve each day while enjoying the game of volleyball!What’s the best part about coaching this year’s team? The contact I have with the girls! I love getting to know them on a personal level and building relationships based on more than just volleyball – I love being a role model!How do you motivate high school athletes? I encourage them to be the best that they can be – but it’s based on an individual level. Each girl must have her own standards and not compare herself to the other girls!What do you eat before a match? Whatever I can find! Usually I eat fruit, trail mix and some sort of dinner (maybe chicken or a sandwich). As healthy as possible at a concession stand!Who do you consider your rival? I use to always say Battle Mountain, but now I would say it’s any team that pushes to go beyond our own expectations!What do you hear yourself constantly repeating to your team? “Stay low! Focus!” I try to use a ton of constructive criticism and positive feedback! Teens hear a lot of negative, so I try to be positive with them. Water or Sports Drink? Water – good stuff!
