Edwards’ Brown honored by Colonial Athletic Association
BOSTON Britney Brown earned all-league in volleyball.Normally, thats not big news. The Battle Mountain alumna (Class of 2007) was all-league and all-state regularly during her storied volleyball career in high school.This time around, Brown, now a sophomore at Northeastern University, earned first-team, all-league honors from the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) recently.Brown had an excellent season in which she tallied 209 kills and 450 assists good for second-best on the team. She also led the CAA in service aces and ranked in the top 10 in hitting percentage and assists. The Edwards native was named CAA Player of the Week and CVU.com Top Performer of the Week after a 15-kill, 30 assist, and 13-dig performance against William & Mary. She broke a school record for service aces in a match, when she tallied 10 in a three-set match against the University of North Carolina- Wilmington. Brown has also been nationally ranked for service aces per set. In addition, Brown became the eighth Husky yes, Northeastern and Battle Mountain are Huskies to pass the 1,000-career assist plateau.
