Fundraiser for soccer official

Daily Staff Report

On Jan. 7, there will be a fundraiser for Dave Marjoram at the Gore Range Brewery in Edwards. This October, Marjoram, a local referee and soccer enthusiast, was taken ill while refereeing a high school soccer game. Dave’s condition was so severe that a flight for life helicopter was deemed necessary in order to transport him to a hospital in Denver. The total cost of his traumatic experience was over $50,000. The insurance company that covers state referees denied the claim and he still has over $32,000 in unpaid medical expenses. At the fundraiser, there will be collection jars placed around and a keg of beer will be sold in individual pints with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting Dave. Items may be auctioned also at the event to help raise as much money as possible. If you have a way to help or cannot attend the event and would like to donate money or auction items please contact Lee Jones at the Vail Valley Soccer Club (970 845 5022)on checks can be made out to the Vail Valley Medical Center and sent to Vail Valley Soccer Club at Box 2728, Edwards, CO 81632.Vail, Colorado
