Scoring a combined 26 runs on 22 hits, Glenwood Springs swept visiting Battle Mountain in a Saturday baseball doubleheader.

Behind a complete game by pitcher Robert Reynolds, the Demons claimed the opener, 10-2. Reynolds struck out seven and allowed just one earned run. Cole Ryan belted two solo homers to pace Glenwood’s offense. Cody Derby, Jon Forristall and Reynolds also collected a pair of hits apiece. Pete Ray and Caiden Sorenson also had hits.

Chris Duran’s two hits paced the Huskies.

In the nightcap, which lasted just five innings due to the mercy rule, Glenwood rode a nine-run fourth inning to a 16-1 triumph. Derby pitched four innings to record the win on the mound. He surrendered two hits and struck out six. Forristall pitched the final inning.

Ray led Glenwood at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Tim Burr was 2-for-4 and drove in four runs, as well.

Derby and Carder Ullom each finished with two hits. Miguel Vega, Forristall and Cole Adams all had a hit apiece. William Sterret’s two hits led Battle Mountain.

With the sweep, the Demons improved to 4-6 overall and to 4-2 in the 4A Western Slope League. The Huskies dipped to 3-10 overall and to 3-6 in league play.
