Glenwood tops Huskies

The Huskies got on the board when Matt Bortz homered in the third. Battle Mountain closed Glenwood’s lead to 5-4 in the fourth inning with a three spot. Junior Martinez started things with a double and was knocked in by Eddie Irgens. Garrett Duncan followed with a a two-run single.

The rally was still alive but, in a key defensive moment, Glenwood turned the 6-4-3 double play. The Demons went on to score nine runs in the next two innings to win by the 10-run rule.

The Huskies, 1-10 overall and 1-5 in league, host Rifle in a double-dip in Eagle-Vail on Saturday. First pitch is at 11 a.m.
