The day of golf on Sunday took six-and-a-half hours for Battle Mountain and Eagle Valley in the chilly rain and windy conditions.

The Devils managed to pull off a fourth-place finish with Jill Ewing (107), Kelly Bartsch (118) and Chelsey Leuders (125) combining for a team score of 350. The Huskies finished two shots off the Devils with Erica Ring (107), and sisters Samantha (123) and Courtney (122) Davis combining for fifth place in the tournament with a 352.

The conditions proved unfavorable for most of the eight teams, save Glenwood Springs, who won the Glenwood “The Hill” Invitational

“It was a horrific day for golf. The girls played hard, but the conditions were tough,” said Huskies coach Cassie Desmone.

Battle Mountain and Eagle Valley head to Delta on Friday, April 16, for a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
