Grand Junction sweeps Devils spikers
GYPSUM — Eagle Valley volleyball had a rough opener on Thursday night, falling to Grand Junction Central, 25-21, 25-22, 25-16, in nonconference play in Gypsum.
“We have a very young team,” Devils coach Lindsey Myers said. “We have a new rotation, and we’re trying out a lot of new things. We need to work on our basic ball control, but we’ll get better through the season.”
RETURNING DEVILS
The Devils (0-1) still have some returnees from last year’s squad and they were strong. Coach Myers said that Molly Jewett had a good night setting, while Carlee Morrison was putting down powerful kills as an outside hitter.
