Date of birth: May 17, 1985

Parents: Fred and Lorraine Haslee

Siblings: Laura, 20

What do you like about volleyball?: “I really like how it’s a team sport and how everyone works together and how you get to have fun on and off the court. You get to develop relationships on and off the court with different players.”

Position: Outside hitter

How do you pump people up?: “I play with my heart and I give it all that I can and I help other people who look like they’re not having a good day. I just try to lift their spirits up.”

Are you surprised how far this team has come from your freshman year?: “I would never have guessed that we would have an undefeated season my senior year. After last year, I knew that we were going to have a really good team this year. But I’m totally shocked by our record right now.”

Do you allow yourself to think about an undefeated season?: “I just play one game at a time. I don’t really think about that. When we get there, I’ll start thinking about it. But right now, I just want to play each game as hard as we can.”

What’s the perfect spike like?: “It’s a red light flashing in front of you. You get so excited and the adrenaline just flows through your body. It’s the best experience.”

Who are some funny characters on this team?: “Cely Brinkmann is really funny. She makes everyone laugh on and off the court. The van rides are just a comedy show.”

What’s Mike Garvey like?: “Mr. Garvey is just another father to us. Our relationships are daughters and father. Everyone just has this great relationship. He cares for us so much and we care for him so much.”

What’s the funniest think Garvey’s done?: “He always just says funny things. But sometimes, they’re really not funny. He just thinks they’re funny.”

What’s it like to be a senior?: “It hasn’t really hit me that I’m a senior. I’m sure, if we get to state or when we play our last game, I’m sure it will hit me then.”
