Huskies girls lax beats Summit County, 16-5
FARMER’S KORNER — Battle Mountain girls lacrosse started the post-spring break stretch drive in fine style, thrashing Summit County, 16-5.
Marti Schmidt scored six goals, so she didn’t have to walk home over the pass. Chloe Doctor had five, so she got to ride the bus home, too.
Haley Frischholz, Berit Kirchner, Julia Heid and Quinn Hilgartner also scored.
Tatum Huffman and Natalie Spear each played a half in net, and combined for 17 saves.
“It was nice to be back at full strength as a team and be able to see what we can produce when we’re playing at a high level,” Battle Mountain coach Jason Fitzgerald said.
The Huskies (5-3 overall and 1-1 in the Slope) host Fruita Monument today.
