Huskies girls win at Summit

FARMER’S KORNER — Put it on the board.

Battle Mountain girls basketball burst into the league win column on Tuesday night, winning at Summit County 59-34.

“We had some pretty balanced scoring,” Huskies coach Vinny Cisneros said. “That’s the first time we’ve had that all season. Our defense did a nice job and that got us out in transition, which was nice to see.”

Elizabeth Olivas led the Huskies with 16 points, while Dylan Barker had 14.

Battle Mountain upped its record to 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the Slope. The win comes after tight losses to Eagle Valley and Delta and a tough night at Glenwood Springs, the defending conference champion.

“We’ve had some ups and downs, so it’s good to get this league win,” Cisneros said. “Hopefully, we can snowball this into Palisade.”

The Huskies host those Bulldogs on Friday night.
