Broncos president/CEO Joe Ellis and general manager John Elway have tested positive for COVID-19.

The Broncos issued a statement with the news around 10:35 a.m.

Ellis was “not feeling 100% on Sunday morning,” and did not attend the game. He reported his symptoms to the Broncos’ medical team. Ellis worked from home on Monday before receiving the positive test result this morning.

Elway “immediately left” the Broncos’ facility Monday morning “after experiencing minor symptoms that he quickly brought to the attention of our medical staff.”

The team said, “other than mild symptoms, both Joe and John are doing well. They will continue to work from home in self-isolation and participate in virtual meetings while their health is monitored.”

The Broncos said they are “confident these cases originated independently outside team facilities. There were minimal close contacts identified for each (no players or coaches) and those individuals have been notified.”

Team officials held a video conference this morning with NFL chief medical officer Dr. Allen Sills and chief football administrative officer Dawn Aponte.

In the past month, the Broncos have been hit with coronavirus via running backs coach Curtis Modkins (missed two games) and offensive line coach Mike Munchak, defensive coordinator Ed Donatell and right guard Graham Glasgow, all of whom missed Sunday’s game.
