King of the Mountain returns for 36th year

VAIL ” It’s back. The 36th annual Vail King of the Mountain Open is back in Vail June 13-15 at the Vail Athletic Field.

The most comprehensive (22 divisions) and fastest-growing beach doubles volleyball tournament in North America, the King of the Mountain Open has something for every member of the family. Whether you are a recreational, or competitive player; or, even if you just like watching beach volleyball, the King of the Mountain has levels of play in men’s masters and seniors divisions, men’s and women’s pro divisions, adult men’s and women’s, co-ed, juniors, and, even, a Father’s Day father-son and father-daughter divisions.

As well, the junior’s U-18, U-16, U-14, and U-12 (boys and girls) is the only Rocky Mountain Region stop on the USA Beach Junior Volleyball Tour. A free beach doubles clinic will be offered on June 13 from 12:30-4:30 p.m. for any/all interested junior players. The clinic will feature players from the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour and will be directed by John Kessel, USA volleyball’s director of special programs.

Admission is free for spectators and there will be food and beverage concessions on site as well.
