KOA’s Jeff Kingery, the radio voice of the Colorado Rockies for 17 seasons, will see his role significantly reduced in the second half of the season.

According to multiple industry sources, Kingery and the Rockies had a major disagreement over an incident involving Kingery following a road game last month at Dodger Stadium. That disagreement precipitated the change in Kingery’s role.

Kingery confirmed today that he will call primarily home games for the remainder of the season.

Kingery will travel with the Rockies to San Diego on Thursday to cover the first road series after the all-star break. A source said that Kingery’s only other road series will be the season finale Oct. 2-4 in Los Angeles.
