Local rafting teams retain U.S. title

GRANITE ” Before heading to the 2007 World Rafting Championships, the U.S. teams had a chance to secure another national title Tuesday.

Both Behind the 8-Ball and Timberline Tours, the men’s and women’s teams, respectively, came out on top of the field Tuesday on the Arkansas River.

Behind the 8-Ball and Timberline, whose members live in Eagle County, will retain the title of the U.S. Rafting Team for another year. Friday, the teams head to Korea in hopes of securing their first world titles.
