Mountain Mania finale Saturday
VAIL – Mountain Mania wraps up its 2004-2005 season with an afternoon of rail riding action Saturday at Golden Peak.The rail jam expression session gets under way at 11 a.m. in the Golden Peak terrain park, which is accessible by taking the Riva Bahn Chair 6 Express Lift.
Open to both skiers and boarders, the two-hour jam format encourages participants to test their mettle as many times as possible within the allotted time period. Winners are determined by the highest scores collected. At stake is a $1,000 prize purse, which will be divided up between the top-three athletes in the open category.Mountain Mania pre-registration is available online at http://www.mtnmania.com or in person at Ski Base in Lionshead. Registration is also available Saturday at the Mountain Mania tent adjacent to the rail park in Golden Peak.
Entries are priced at $10.”Mountain Mania’s had a terrific run this season,” said Highline Sports’ Amy Hornyak. “Throughout the winter, we’ve seen super talented hucksters in the pipe, on the rails, and knee deep in the bumps.”
