Orton, Quinn lead Broncos’ QB derby
The Denver Post
For all the talk of a four-way quarterback competition, veterans Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn continue to get the most work at the position through the team’s second voluntary passing camp.
Today, in the final practice of a four-day camp, Orton took all of the first-team repetitions, followed by Quinn. Rookie Tim Tebow and second-year player Tom Brandstater were almost completely shut out of live drills against Denver’s defense.
“Kyle is definitely getting the most, and he deserves to, there is no doubt about that,” head coach Josh McDaniels said. “Brady goes in there next, and then we’ve been flopping them all. The only thing that’s really consistent is that Kyle is in the first huddle.”
Tebow did move ahead of Brandstater in team drills Thursday, though McDaniels downplayed any depth chart changes. Only one out of every three of the voluntary practices are open to the media.
