Special to the DailyA happy bunch of Vaill Pee Wee B's celebrate its tournament championship last weekend in Taos, N.M.

TAOS, N.M. – The Vail Junior Hockey Association Pee Wee B team traveled to Taos, N.M., last weekend to the Taos Coyotes Invitational tournament, and brought home the championship trophy.

The Pee Wees played four qualifying games on Friday and Saturday and qualified for the championship game on Sunday with a 2-1-1 record. Vail defeated the Colorado Springs Thunder in the championship game, 2-1. The Thunder had given Vail its only loss for the tournament on the previous day. Vail’s division included the Taos, N.M. Coyotes, the Gunnison Blades and two teams from Colorado Springs – the Jr. Tigers and the Thunder.

The Vail Pee Wees who made the trip to Taos are goalie Steve Parra, captain Andrew Claymon, assistant captains Alex Woods, and Aaron Lewis, team members Scott McClure, Miguel Rodriguez, Peter “Woody” Lich, Connor Grunditsch, Patrick Perry, Aaron Bourne, Will Hymes, Elliot Simon. Unable to make the trip to Taos were team members Tasha Wyatt, Matti Hill, and Daniel Schramm.

The coaches are Scott Hovey and Barry Beigler.It was the final tournament of the year for the Pee Wee B team, they were very excited to end the season with a tournament championship trophy.Vail, Volorado
