Phillips signs letter of intent with Adams State
Adams State College announced on Wednesday that Sam Phillips, a 5-foot-3 forward/midfielder from Eagle Valley has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer for the Grizzlies starting in the fall of 2004.
Phillips, now in the heart of her spring season, has earned all-conference honors for each of her past three seasons and was an honorable mention all-state pick in 2002 for the Devils, who have placed second in their league for each of the last two years.
She is also a starter for the Vail Valley Soccer Club and earned all-conference softball honors in 2002 for Eagle Valley.
“We are extremely excited to announce the addition of Samantha to our squad,” Grizzlies coach Dale Roden said. “She is a true competitor and we have no reservations that she will have a direct and immediate impact on the program.”
Phillips has a 4.7 GPA and is an academic lette-winner at Eagle Valley who plans to major in pre-engineering at Adams State. She is the seventh player to sign with the Grizzlies this year and is the fourth Colorado high school senior to ink with Roden’s program.
