Pianist Poage aces third at Cordillera Summit
“Phantom of the Opera,” by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Poage’s own song, “Last Run of the Day,” he says, are the most popular requests.
On Tuesday, Poage penned another hit of his own by acing hole No. 3 at the Cordillera Summit Course just three years after taking up the sport.
The shot was witnessed by Bob and Jan Rule and Doug Davidson.
“We didn’t see it go in because you can’t see the green from the tee box,” Poage said. “It just rolled down the hill and in. I started looking in the sand traps, at first. Doug, he went up and actually found it in the hole.”
No. 3 at the Summit Course measures 106 yards. Poage used an 8-iron.
