Red Wings play Blackhwaks alumni in Vail

VAIL, Colorado – Dobson Ice Arena in Vail, Colorado will host a double-header Friday.

First up, the Battle Mountain High School Huskies ice hockey team will play the Palmer High School Terrors from Colorado Springs. That will be followed by the annual Detroit Red Wings alumni team versus Vail’s-own Vail Mountaineers and players from the Chicago Blackhawks alumni team.

The high school game starts at 5 p.m. and costs are $5 for adults and $4 for children. The alumni game begins at 7 p.m. and costs are $5 for adults and $3 for children.The games are a fundraiser for the Vail Eagle Hockey Association.

The hockey association runs youth hockey programs for kids of all ability levels. There are competitive travel teams and recreational local teams. The association works closely with the Vail Recreation District, which manages Dobson Ice Arena.
