Report: Tad Boyle to be new CU basketball coach

BOULDER, Colorado – The Univeristy of Colorado has reportedly turned to homegrown talent to lead its men’s basketball team in picking Tad Boyle to replace Jeff Bzdelik as head coach.

The Camera is reporting that Boyle, coach of Northern Colorado’s basketball team the past four seasons, will be introduced as the new head coach at a news conference Monday afternoon.

Boyle played basketball at Greeley Central High School and played at Kansas under coach Larry Brown. Boyle later coached at Longmont High School before beginning his NCAA coaching career in 1994, serving as an assistant or office personnel in Oregon, Tennessee, Jacksonville and Wichita State.

Bzdelik left CU earlier this month to become head coach at Wake Forest.
