Rockies red-hot run improves to 16-1

Rockies road trips used to be as successful as Clark Griswold’s family adventure to Walley World in National Lampoon’s “Vacation.”

But that’s changing.

The Rockies enter tonight’s game in Anaheim against the talented Angels riding an eight-game road win streak – best in the majors this season and tied for the best in franchise history.

Plus, the Rockies, to borrow a phrase from Dan Rather, are “hotter than a Times Square Rolex.” Their 5-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday at Coors Field was their 16th victory in their last 17 games. Their 16 victories in June have already set a franchise record for the month.

But this nine-game road trip through Anaheim, Oakland and Los Angeles will be a test, to be sure.
