Ski and Snowboard Club Vail impressive in slalom race

TELLURIDE, Colorado ” Ski and Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) might just want to stay in Telluride after the results they racked up this week.

Competing in a slalom race for the second-straight day on Tuesday, SSCV put six skiers in the top 15. Whitney Setterberg reached the podium in third place. On her second run, Setterberg flew down the course in 41.01 seconds to finish with a combined time of 1:28.27.

Delainey Ackerman barely missed a chance to stand on the podium, taking fourth. SSCV added another racer in the top 10 with Jocelyn Irwin’s ninth-place finish in a time of 1:33.36.

Taylor Shiffrin paced SSCV on the men’s side in eighth place. His time of 1:19.81 was good enough to win the J2 category.

Sam Coffey was right behind Shiffrin in ninth. Nathan Asoian (12th) finished with a combined time of 1:20.80. Andreas Calabrese had a strong second run to take 20th place.
