Ski Club Vail’s VanHee scores silver in Telluride

Vail Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL, Colorado –The discipline of the day was slalom, and like her finish in Friday’s GS, a silver, Ski and Snowboard Club Vail’s Kendall VanHee placed second in Sunday’s slalom behind Steamboat’s Chloe Burke, and in front of the woman who beat her on Friday, Aspen’s Danielle Brownell-Patty.

The ski club also had three other women on the first page of results. Erika McCormick, after placing seventh on her first run, skied the fastest second slalom run and finished fifth for the day. Molly McGrew and Katie Talbot finished 11th and 15th.

“Kendall skied well during these championships,” coach J.J. Jensen said, “and Erika McCormick really stepped it up on her second run today and skied awesome.”

The ski club men saw Clayton Kirwood in 11th, Quin Davis, 13th and Kevan Aubel finishing 14th.
