Snowshoe series starts Dec. 6 on Tennessee Pass

VAIL, Colorado With the first shoers charging out of the pack on Dec. 6, the Pedal Power Snowshoe Adventure Series begins its 13th season of racing to benefit local charities in Eagle and Lake Counties.This seasons first race will begin and end at the Tennessee Pass Nordic Center. The Center is located at the Ski Cooper Ski Area at the top of Tennessee Pass, with the course following a blend of single-track, wooded cross-country trails and panoramic open stretches. Start time is 10 a.m.This first race will benefit Full Circle, a youth mentoring program based in Leadville.This years schedule will consist of five events held around the region, including the Colorado State Championship, as well as the qualifying race for the United States Snowshoe Association National Championships. This year also marks the return of last years Winter Triathlon, which includes snowshoeing, snow biking and skate skiing.Title-sponsors for this years series are First Bank and Gorsuch, Ltd., Maximum Comfort Pool & Spa and Dollar Rent-a-Car. Individual event sponsors include, The Tennessee Pass Nordic Center, Paddys Sports Bar and Grill, Pazzos Pizza, Aria Spa & Club and Billys Island Grill.Registration for the first event is $20.
