Special to the DailyThe Vail Valley Soccer Club is hopsting a Traveling Elite Camp for soccer players of all abilities in Edwards through Saturday.

This summer, the Vail Valley Soccer Club decided to kick off its Traveling Elite Camp right by inviting one of the countries top coaches.

The intention of the camp is to bring in Internationally acclaimed coaches to work with the local club athletes to take their training to the next level. Clint Greenwood arrived on Monday to host the High Intensity Soccer Camp, which goes through Saturday.

“Above all else, our training program fosters an environment where the athletes can work hard, have fun and enjoy the world’s greatest game.” said Greenwood, the director of the Greenwood Soccer Academy in California. The Vail Valley Soccer Club’s own Gavin Tait is responsible for bringing the traveling camp to the Vail Valley. Gavin Tait, director of coaching for the Vail Valley Soccer Club, is a soccer coach with 20 years experience of soccer, coaching players across a range of abilities and ages. As a U-18’s Soccer coach: 3-time Regional League Champions, played in 3 National Cup Finals.

“This High Intensity/ Elite camp is just the start of what the Vail Valley Soccer Club has in store.” said Tait. “With over 40 kids attending this first annual session, the word is out and it is apparent that the athletes and parents want the best when it comes to training.” The VVSC invites all parents and kids to come to the Miller Ranch Soccer Fields and watch the athletes train all week from Thursday through Saturday.Vail, Colorado
