Mountain summer outdoor recreation and lifestyle will be showcased Saturday and Sunday as the 2003 Vail Summer Sports Fest takes over the Vail Village and Lionshead, offering up a high-flying weekend of sports and entertainment.”Sports Fest annually transforms Vail Village and Lionshead into an all encompassing outdoor experience,” said Highline Sports and Entertainment’s Jeff Brausch. “There are so many things to see and do that it’s hard to take it all in. Last year, Sports Fest became known as “Vail’s Best Party Under The Sun’ and it really lived up to the billing.”The 2003 Vail Summer Sports Fest will kick off Saturday morning with skateboard and BMX exhibitions, mountain-bike trials and stunts will be on tap throughout the weekend at designated locations throughout Vail Village and Lionshead, featuring elite athletes and X Games medallists. These gravity-defying antics will be interspersed with fly casting clinics; a climbing wall, outdoor manufacturers, showcasing the latest and in gear and technology.Sunday, the Sports Fest continues at 8 a.m. with the annual Run for the Hills Run/Walk to benefit the Vail Breast Cancer Awareness Group.
