SSCV turns in strong performances

WINTER PARK, Colorado ” Only a few weeks into the season, and the Ski and Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) is already piling up impressive performances.

A busy schedule has led to a number of podium finishes for the athletes. On Dec. 21, SSCV competed in super-G and super combined races at Winter Park. Nicholaus Kullas turned in the best performance of the day, winning the super-G. Nathan Asoian took third and Bryan Shpall came in fifth for SSCV.

Taylor Shiffrin, another SSCV skier, placed first in the J2 division.

Kullas followed his stellar performance in the super-G with another one in the super combined. Kullas finished in third place. Shiffrin again took first in J2.

The strong finishes kept coming on Dec. 22. Will Gregorak, a skier with the U.S. Ski Team, and a former member of SSCV, claimed second place in the men’s slalom at Steamboat’s Holiday Classic Race. Gregorak was the top junior finisher.
