US skier Ted Ligety in first place after first run
Beaver Creek CO, Colorado
BEAVER CREEK, Colorado ” American ski racer Ted Ligety had the fastest run in the first flight of the Giant Slalom at the Birds of Prey ski races at Beaver Creek.
Switzerland’s Didier Cuche currently holds second place and Norway’s Aksel Lund Svindal is tying down third place after the first heat. Svindal has won both races at the Birds of Prey, taking the Downhill on Thursday and the Super G on Friday.
Should he win, it would be the first time all three disciplines have been won by a single man since Maier’s big run in at the World Alpine Ski Championships in 1999.
American Bode Miller is currently in 5th place, with a time of 1.12.20, which is 0.89 seconds out of first place.
